Akalis start protest for release of Sikh prisoners

New Delhi, July 20

Several Akali parties on Wednesday, launched a protest demanding release of Sikh political prisoners.

The SAD, led by Sukhbir Badal, held a dharna for the release of prisoners. He was joined by Sarna brothers ndash; Paramjit and Harvinder ndash; who have their own SAD (Delhi). Manjit Singh GK, who broke away from the Badal-led SAD and formed his own party, also joined the protest.

Addressing mediapersons, the DSGMC president, Harmeet Kalka, said the release of Sikh political prisoners was a serious issue.
